Liebster

Thanks to this silly girl over at JustLove127

I have received this award.

That's cool, but what is it?

It is a way to recognize blogs that you love and get others to fall in love with them as well.

Aww... shucks! :)

Here are the "rules" of the Liebster Award.
  1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
  2. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
  3. Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
  4. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserves to be noticed.
  5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment on their blog.
Without further ado, here are my 5:

2- Opened Eyes Lindsay is an amazingly patient mamma  waiting for her girl from the Congo. She is super crafty and pretty awesome sports fans (even if for the wrong team :) ) Make sure to check out her shop site!

3- Home for Hire Nicole found me nearly a year ago. This girl has a BIG heart! :) She isn't even adopting and yet she give some of her proceeds every month to an adopting family!! She is pretty awesome at DIY and always has great tips!

4- Expecting A Blessing- Blessed Mama (she has been upgraded from Future Mama!) is another first time momma like me :) They are adopting a little guy from Taiwan!! She is just all around fun! Stick around, things are about to get very exciting!!!!!

It's a post

I am so sorry it has been so long since an update.
Still no referral.
We are praying it is soon, we just do not know.

Most likely we will not travel till after summer break.
Honestly, I am not doing ok.
I am sad.
That is just it.
I have been in a funk and am trying to get out of it!
Pray for us.
Waiting is hard.
It is even harder when your original timeline was 3-6 months and it has been 10.

Also plane tickets have gone majorly up!! Double in some cases!
So if anyone wants to have a Tastefully Simple party, you can earn free products and help us raise a little extra $$ for our tickets. Just email me!

Here are some pics to make you happy~
The dresser is finished and I love it!

Praying for mountains to be moved this week, hope you join me!

When life has you down

No referral.... That makes over 9 months since approval.... 14 months since we started.

When I have days that I just can't deal (like today) I turn on Pandora to my Jonas Brother station. You know, cuz I'm 12! :) haha And I get busy cleaning.... Nothing makes me feel better than listening to silly songs and getting things done. Enjoy!

Or how about some Miley.....

Or if that doesn't work.... I watch some Pentatonix

Hope these made ya smile!

Homework

I have done a lot of thinking lately about cocooning.
I will be putting together our own "letter" but thought it would be very helpful to give multiple insights.
So here are some great post to read about attachment and cocooning.

All of the above links are found at Saying Yes To Adoption
We met the couple over a year ago and they have since moved away. They just passed Embassy for their little one! yay!! I think she wrote this with great wisdom and I love how she had guest post to get others insight.

Lastly here is our friends post.

I hope this gives you some insight into what is coming.
Honest moment: I am kind of stressing out that you all are gonna hate me over this. But we are the parents and we decide what is best for him in the long run, so I hope everyone can come behind that.

Send me your fundraisers please!

I am in need of some fundraisers.
Most of the people we are most connected to are funded! (Praise God)
That doesn't mean we stop supporting!

So comment below with your fundraisers!!
Tshirts, parties, etsy shops, ect.
Mother's day is coming up... give us some good ideas!
Also if ANYONE is doing the linen fundraiser, or if you know anyone, let me know!! I want some!!

And if any of you want to have a Tastefully Simple fundraiser, email me. I would love to set it up for you!

We are all in this together, because God calls us to do this :)

I will leave you with this cuteness.... who turns 5 wks today.... coming home soon!

DIY Mania!!

To keep us busy while we wait for our referral, we have been uber busy with house projects.

We bought our house as a fixer-uper and have done everything ourselves!
This can be very tiring, but we know what we were getting into, somewhat! haha

Picked up this beauty at a thrift store for $85!! Score!
It is SOLID wood, even the inside of the drawers!
I an working on stripping the varnish and sanding it down right now, going to do a white wash stain.
Also got some amazing bamboo pulls.

This is our patio/deck. Tiny, rotting and a small termite issue. We really don't use it!

This is how it looked yesterday! More than half way up!! Just wait till you see what we transform it into.... I am SSOOO excited about it!!

Boo's bedding came! Made by Grandma.... Love it!!

And lastly... we are adding to our family.
For a long time now we have talked about how Seren needs a friend.
Time and $$ have held us back.
Well we found the perfect family member and he will be joining us in a few short weeks.
And it is not a purchase situation, it's an adoption! :) (fits us~)

Beast Miller
Here is is 2 wks old, beagle!! Love him!!

Hope you have a great week! And pray ours is an amazing one ;)

Agonizing

ag·o·niz·ing

 adjective

1.
to suffer extreme pain or anguish; be in agony.
2.
to put forth great effort of any kind.

Synonym

Waiting

This waiting sucks. It hurts. And I am so tired of it.

We have been USCIS approved for 8 months now, and still no referral.
I thought we would be home by now.
Our wait time was always 3-6 months.

I have seen so many people get approval after us and their children before.
That is a hard one.
When is it my turn?

So many people say they know how it feels.
But do they really?
I am a housewife with 0 kids at home to keep me busy.
My day is full of thoughts of my son.
I can't help it.
I have been praying for him by name for 5 years.
I want to see his face.
It is so hard knowing he is out there... and yet not knowing a thing about him.

I try to keep busy and control what I can. (Mainly house projects.)
That works until something happens that is not in my control.
Then everything breaks.
I can't hold it in.
I want my son.

Sorry for the rant..... but I think everyone needs to know that at times, this sucks and it's hard.
